Christmas is a time when family and friends get together to relax and have peaceful holiday conversations. Being able to communicate without barriers with loved ones is a cherished experience. Chilling out in the living room and sharing stories at a holiday party is a gift.Spending time together is what bonds us. When deaf or hard of hearing people cannot do that, it isolates them. They may not experience one of the greatest joys of the holiday season.
Face to face communication is very important during the holidays, and being able to express your thoughts and emotions in words is crucial to connecting with the ones we know and love.I have shared my own experience of what it was like to simply sit down in the living room with my own father last Christmas and hold a barrier-free face to face talk. I hope that one day, everyone who is deaf or hard of hearing can have these same special moments, too.
Communicate freely,
Jason
